"Rallying the troops"

The event: Opening remarks at the Cordis Endovascular annual sales meeting.

The audience: Entire US sales organization.

The speaker: President of Cordis Endovascular

The title: Untitled

The story: Cordis is the unit of Johnson & Johnson that markets stents for angioplasty operations. In fact, they were the very first company to sell stents and they dominated the marketplace. But the previous year, the cardiology division of Cordis had faced competition for the first time, and their market share took a brutal hit. The endovascular division expected the competition to reach them this year. This sales meeting was critical -- and successful: they staved off the threat and emerged again as market-share leaders.
